Welcome to your Chakra Yoga Flow to Cleanse Your Crown Chakra.
The crown chakra, sahasrara, is the seventh and final energy center in your chakra system. It’s your universal identity, it’s what opens and connects you to something greater, something beyond your thinking mind, something limitless, something boundless, something spiritual and beautiful. Let’s look at some crown chakra basics:
Crown Chakra Basics
- Sanskrit – sahasrara
- Location – top of the head, nervous system
- Element is thought
- Color is violet
- Bija mantra – silence
- Activity is knowing
- Universal identity
- Demon is attachment
- Right to understand
- Purpose – awareness, intention, freedom, liberation
- Goals – knowledge, awakened consciousness, spiritual connection, healthy belief system, experience of wholeness
Because of the crown chakra’s location, top of the head, it’s your portal to what lies beyond. To access these cerebral, limitless state or what’s thought of as higher consciousness, one first has to make space. But how do you do that? Internal spaciousness can happen through a multitude of ways…. I recommend meditation and working with your belief system as both are tied to the crown chakra element (thought).
Working with your belief system is an in-depth and intimate experience, one that cannot be taught within this blog post (there’s a training for that down below), but what I can teach you is this…. You are the creator of your beliefs, you are the author of your story, you are the gardener of your psyche, you can choose what beliefs to subscribe to, you can weed your soil, and you can re-write and reprogram what’s no longer serving you.
Okay, you came here for a crown chakra yoga class, so let’s talk about that (yeah?). This 20 min class is a simple sequence that seeks to slow down your thoughts and create internal spaciousness, allowing you to open to and be guided by grace. You’ll move through several variations of salutations, linking your movement with breath, while keeping your awareness at the top of your head where the crown chakra lives. The class ends with a lotus breathing practice and a moment in silence that reminds you of your innate wholeness.
Before you unroll your yoga mat, try repeating these affirmations to enliven your experience.
- I CREATE MY BELIEFS
- I EMBRACE MEDITATION
- I AM A SPIRITUAL BEING
- I BELIEVE IN MY WHOLENESS
With these affirmations leading the way, please come join me to cleanse your crown chakra and connect with your right to feel whole.
