Hello perfect yoga video for the holidays, aka for when we’ve eaten and drank too damn much.

 

Three words sum up this yoga flow.

 

Twist. Detox. Digest.

 

And yes, I plan for us to do all three, including the last one….. as in taking a poop.

 

Soooooo, the holidays. 

 

They’re filled with SO MUCH LOVE, so much family, so many social gatherings, so much food, and sometimes so many drinks. And I don’t know about you babes, but I have a serious problem with keeping it in check throughout it all.

 

I’m kinda out of control, actually.

 

Which then leads to incredible discomfort, major inflammation, and consequently – starting the new year off in a funk.

 

A blah funk.

 

In an effort to change this obvious pattern of mine, plus so many others, I thought we could breathe + bend it out with a detox & digestion flow.

 

Think of this flow as your secret weapon to the holiday season – it’s here whenever you need it, however many times you want it, and it will always perform.

 

Quite the weapon, I might add.

 

Before we start moving, sweating, twisting, detoxing and digesting….. I want to quickly touch on why twisting is so good for us & how it relates back to our body’s health.

 

Twist Benefits:

  • Spine mobility
  • Overall back health
  • Energizing
  • Neutralizing (when done on both sides)
  • Aids in digestion

 

Detoxing – How?

  • Helps to stimulate our organs, including our elimination organs
  • Stimulates circulation and creates heat
  • Releases tension in the muscles of the spine, abdomen and rib cage

 

When to Avoid Twists:

  • Pregnancy
  • Spinal disc injury
  • Sacroiliac (SI) joint issues

 

Okay, yoga lesson is complete.

 

I invite you to step on your mat, breathe deep, twist it out and move it out (that last part is a joke, BTW).
